Sida
Page
A page resource creates a link to a screen that displays the content created by the teacher. The Moodle HTML Text Editor allows the page to display many different kinds of content such as plain text, images, audio, video, embedded code or a combination of all these. In certain cases it might be preferable to use the page resource instead of uploading a word-processed document, particularly if the document contains text that is just to be read and not downloaded.
Why a page and not a file?
Why a page and not a file?
- Opens seamlessly - no clunky attempts to launch third party software (e.g. Microsoft Word) which some users may not be able to access.
- Can be accessed by mobile devices e.g. smartphones (again, not all smartphones can handle word-processed documents)
- Much easier for the Teacher to edit (i.e. saves time)
- Much more accessible, and readily configurable for reading (easier to resize text, change colours, etc, in the web browser)
- Can contain links - e.g. to files, to web pages, or to Glossary entries
